Live Updated Cryptocurrency Investment Tracking Spreadsheet

This Google Live Updated Cryptocurrency Investment Tracking Spreadsheet can help you track your cryptocurrency investments. It gets the prices from an external API and keeps them updated. It supports the 15 most popular cryptocurrencies. It uses Poloniex and Cryptocompare APIs to retrieve latest currency’s rates:

Cryptocurrencies Value Calculator

It uses a script based on FastFedora Project which can be optionally downloaded from GitHub.

Instructions:

  • Go to the Google spreadsheet here.
  • Go to File -> Make a Copy.
  • Put you own cryptocurrencies and values.
  • Enjoy!

  2. This is great. Thank you!

  3. This is fantastic! Thank you!

I was playing around with it last night and created a version which also keeps track of your transaction history and then determines your balance based on that history. In addition, I added calculations of an asset’s value in USD, BTC, and BTS. I’m really enjoying the Open Ledger decentralized exchange, but I needed a better way to keep track of what the value should be in terms of BitShares. I hope you don’t mind the link, but here’s an article I just posted about it: https://steemit.com/crypto/@lukestokes/the-cryptocurrency-bank-spreadsheet

    Thanks again!

  4. Thank you for sharing!

  6. does the error related to API limit per day fetching the JSON go away when you clone it to your own sheet? I’m guessing not, haven’t tried obv

  7. It is posible to get the data directly from coincap.io ? thx

  8. I have an issue with #VALUE! and error: An array value could not be found. It seems to be random. Sometime it pops up and sometimes it’s gone. Somtimes it’s voor BTC, sometimes for Ethereum,…

  9. Yeah, I emailed them again and it seems they had to put in more rate limiting. I hope they go with some kind of token based API approach instead of the IP based banning.

  10. Thanks for the info. Hope it will be fixed soon

  11. Hello everyone after searching online for hours last night for a LIVE Cryptocurrency Spreadsheet and finding the one made by Pablo Yabo above in March 2017 I realized that his spreadsheet wasn’t at all what I am looking for.

*So I figured I’d solve the problem for the Steemit Community myself.*

I’m now building out a LIVE @CoinMarketCap Spreadsheet that we can use for daily snapshots of all 100 Cryptocurrencies.

**The spreadsheet automatically refreshes every 5 minutes!**

When I’m done I’ll invite each of you so you can use it how you wish, or we can track certain digi-currencies together.
    _______
I’m Using the =CRYPTOFINANCE call within the document I’ll show you how to build your own with an upcoming Steemit post in a few days.

    =CRYPTOFINANCE(“XXXYYY”, “marketcap”)
    =CRYPTOFINANCE(“XXXYYY”)
    =CRYPTOFINANCE(“XXXYYY”, “total_supply”)
    =CRYPTOFINANCE(“XXXYYY”, “volume”)
    =CRYPTOFINANCE(“XXX”, “change”, “1h”)
    =CRYPTOFINANCE(“XXX”, “change”, “24h”)
    =CRYPTOFINANCE(“XXX”, “change”, “7d”)
XXX is the coin, e.g. BTC
YYY is the fiat money, e.g. USD

What other ideas can we come up with to make this Spreadsheet more AWESOME???
***NOTE: the #ERROR in certain cells is because the Cryptocurrency has to be only 3 characters, but some are more, for example; DASH has 4 letters so certain cells cannot go live.

Here’s a sneek peek of the Live CoinMarketCap Spreadsheet:

  12. As recommended I got a CryptoCompare account but my copy of your spreadsheet will not update prices using 2 different computers, I get NAME?! in every field. Any ideas? Do I have to include my login info somewhere in the spreadsheet?

  13. No, they do it based on ip and the ip is Google so there’s not much that can be done when too many people are hammering their API from Google spreadsheets. Seems to be working just fine for me right now though.

  14. I pieced together the URL from the cell for BTC/USD and got:
    {“USD “: 4133.25}
so I’m close. I tried doing this from an Excel spreadsheet, do I have to do it from a browser?

  15. Hi, Is anyone else suddenly getting errors in the spreadsheet as it cannot locate the information from crypto-compare

  16. Too bad the free account does not import transfers/withdrawals
