In blockchain technology, a node is a computer that connects to a blockchain network. Nodes support the network by maintaining a copy of the blockchain and, in some cases, processing transactions. There are various types of nodes, such as full nodes, which enforce rules and store the entire blockchain; lightweight nodes, which store only part of the blockchain; and mining nodes, which add new blocks to the blockchain. Nodes are integral to the decentralized nature of blockchain, as they ensure that no single point of failure or control can compromise the network.
